FOREVER DTF Effect is a specialty film that lets you add metallic, holographic, or textured foils to your printed designs — with complete freedom of color and placement. This film is different from Glitter or Metallic films. It uses a two-step pressing process, and it only transfers black areas of your design. If you’re looking to offer something completely custom, this guide is for you.
What is FOREVER DTF Effect?
This film works by first transferring a black design to your garment. Then, you apply any hot stamping foil over the black areas. The result: a full-color foil print — without screen printing or vinyl. It’s ideal for wedding apparel, fashion collections, limited editions, and creative projects that demand something unique.
Step 1: Preparing Your Artwork
- Design in 4-Color Black (CMYK Black): Use 100% Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black.
- Turn White Ink OFF: White ink must be disabled in your RIP software. Only the black area will transfer.
- Design Guidelines:
- No open spaces smaller than 6 mm
- No font sizes smaller than 17 pt
This ensures a clean, easy-to-foil result.
Step 2: Printing on the Film
- Print Side: Always use the coated/matte side.
- Use Gloves: Prevent smudges by handling the film with latex gloves.
- Powdering & Curing:
- Apply standard DTF hot-melt powder
- Cure using your normal method (max 135°C oven or 100°C shaker)
Step 3: First Press – Transfer the Black Design
Setting Type | Temp | Time | Pressure |
---|---|---|---|
Cotton | 155°C / 311°F | 30 sec | Light/Medium (1–2 Bar or 14–29 PSI) |
Let the film cool completely.
Peel cold to reveal the black design on your garment.
Step 4: Second Press – Apply Hot Stamping Foil
Place a piece of hot stamping foil (any color/effect) over the black design.
Cover with protective paper (like baking paper).
Press again:
Setting Type | Temp | Time | Pressure |
---|---|---|---|
Foil Transfer | 155°C / 311°F | 40 sec | Heavy (3 Bar / 43 PSI) |
Let it cool and peel the foil cold to reveal your final effect.
